The SweetWater Brewing Company Innovation Marketing Manager will support, build and drive our innovation, renovation, and new product development agenda.   This role will help deliver our multi-year pipeline of consumer-focused and brand-centric new products and skus, acting as a conduit between brewing and marketing with regards to working with our sales team on rollout/launch/delivery.  Essentially this new role will accelerate our innovation agenda and capabilities, and drive development of innovative new beers and other beverage products to support the organization’s business, marketing and sales goals and initiatives.

This role will help define the future of SweetWater brands, so we are looking for a strategic, creative, organized, and project management-oriented self-starter.  They will help deliver and market an exciting array of new products in a dynamic and fast-paced environment while ensuring we remain on strategy, on time and on budget.

Job Description            

  • Bring new brands, products, and skus to life from start to finish, and drive the marketing agenda and support plan for each
  • Identify new-to-world opportunities in beer and beyond beer
  • Support complex cross-functional innovation projects as they move from concept to launch
  • Create a new, formalized innovation process to steer the ship, align stakeholders, manage cross functional support, and project manage for flawless planning and execution
  • Assist with the creation and management of a two to three-year innovation pipeline for the business.
  • Drive and Assist with internal and external efforts to generate new and unique product ideas against key consumer demand spaces.
  • Drive research and development, identifying and ideating towards new opportunities, from both brewing and marketing standpoint
  • Drive the insights, surveys, testing, focus groups process to build and vet concepts from branding, proposition, and liquid standpoints
  • Research innovation trends in key markets and work with brewing team to develop products to support future sales and marketing efforts.
  • Build, plan, and deliver the marketing launch plans and commercial rollout process, including all consumer and trade facing tools
  • Support sell-in to key stakeholders and customers
  • Lead and manage the new product budget including invoicing and tracking 
  • Lead the tracking of new product launches (6-12 months post launch) to determine whether any course correction is required and inform future innovation decisions
  • Lead the management and tracking of trials and testing to bring new products to market
  • Be a highly effective liaison between the Innovation, Marketing, and Sales teams ensuring all teams have what they need to deliver a successful new product launch
  • Create and manage new wholesaler and retailer council partnership program in alignment with sales and marketing that can be used to gain new products insights
  • Form effective partnerships with our R&D, Supply Chain, Marketing and Sales teams so you can be an effective new product representative
  • Work as a project manager to effectively manage the innovation project pipeline, including timelines and stage deliverables; coordinate inputs from all functions to ensure project remain on time and budget
  • Drive and Support the implementation of improved innovation processes


  • 5+ years of experience in a marketing and/or product innovation role. Experience in beer and/or other beverage alcohol is a plus; experience in Consumer Package Goods required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related field required.
  • Knowledge of brand positioning and communication strategies.
  • Thorough understanding of the commercial operations aspect of the business and the importance of marketing’s relationship to field sales from manufacturer/supplier standpoint – knowledge of three-tiered system in beer/bev alc a plus             
  • Highly effective project manager experienced at managing multiple work streams and projects in a fast-paced and challenging environment with the ability to shift priorities to meet rapidly evolving business needs
